Jakarta: Round One

Our first time together in Jakarta.   Decided to travel light and packed only the tiny Canon Powershot S110.   Results were OK at best, too many out of focus shots oddly enough.  Not sure if this was user error or the camera.

Bandar

Small ferries around the harbour

Quattro Metri Sopra il Cielo

Love locks, or whatever they’re called.  A common sight in Italy as well.

Rock not death

Rock not death.  I think this says it all.  An odd thing to spot in the outskirts of central Jakarta.

Bad fish

The “Bad Fish” as he was labeled.  Supposedly, he’d been eating the smaller fish in the fountain.  Applied DxO film filter for this shot in post.

Beetles

Walking around the old Dutch quarter and spotted these immaculate Beetles.  Say what you will, but I simply adore these buggers, third reich tainted past or not.

A great combo

Lastly from the Flickr site:  This marks the first journey where the iPad was left at home in favour of the HP Stream 7.  It’s battery life is poor to say the least, primarily due to the many cut corners in the drivers and software (no doubt something HP had to do to drive the cost down to $99 USD), but the ability to plug in (not to mention tether) a camera and use full fledged Lightroom or Photoshop is hard to pass up at this price point.
